We only collect personal information you choose to provide to us. Specifically:
- Contact form submissions — when you submit the contact form on this website, we receive your name, email address, phone number, and the message you choose to send.
- Standard server logs — our hosting provider (Cloudflare Pages) records standard request metadata such as IP address, browser user-agent, and timestamp. This is used to operate and secure the website. We do not maintain a separate analytics or tracking system on this site.
We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or similar third-party tracking on this website. We do not sell personal information.
3. Why we collect it (APP 3 & 5)
We collect your personal information for the following purposes only:
- To respond to your enquiry or quote request.
- To prepare and deliver a written proposal for your website project.
- To provide the services you have asked us to provide.
- To meet our legal and record-keeping obligations.
- To operate and secure this website.
We do not use your information for marketing without your consent. If we ever add direct-marketing communications, you will have a clear opportunity to opt in and an easy unsubscribe link.
4. Who we share it with
We use a small number of service providers to operate this website. Each is bound by contractual confidentiality and security obligations:
- Cloudflare, Inc. — hosting and edge delivery (Cloudflare Pages). Cloudflare may process traffic metadata at edge points-of-presence globally; application data is stored in regions configured by us.
- Google LLC (Gmail / Google Workspace) — we receive your enquiry by email and reply via this same channel.
We do not disclose your personal information to any other third party except (a) with your consent, (b) to comply with a lawful court order, subpoena, or regulator request, or (c) if it becomes necessary to protect our legal rights.
We have no marketing partners and we do not use advertising networks on this site.
5. Cross-border disclosure (APP 8)
Some of our service providers are headquartered outside Australia and may process limited operational data internationally:
- Cloudflare, Inc. is incorporated in the United States; its edge network operates globally. The content of your enquiry is stored in Australia via our CRM.
- Google Workspace mailboxes are operated by Google LLC; our provider region is Australia where available.
By submitting personal information through this site you consent to this limited cross-border processing for the purposes set out above.
6. Security (APP 11)
- All traffic to this website is served over HTTPS (TLS).
- Form submissions are transmitted over HTTPS to our secure CRM endpoint.
- The hosting infrastructure (Cloudflare Pages) maintains a current security and compliance program.
- Internal CRM access is restricted to authorised personnel and protected by authentication.
No system can guarantee perfect security. We do our best, and we will notify you in line with the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme (see §9) if your information is ever involved in an eligible data breach.
7. Access and correction (APP 12 & 13)
You have the right to ask us what personal information we hold about you and to ask us to correct it. To make a request, email Brett@activewebsolutions.com.au. We will respond within a reasonable period (normally within 30 days) and will not charge you for reasonable requests.
If we decline a request, we will explain why in writing and tell you how to seek review.
8. Complaints
If you believe we have mishandled your personal information, please email us at Brett@activewebsolutions.com.au with "Privacy complaint" in the subject line. We will acknowledge your complaint within 5 business days and aim to resolve it within 30 days.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at www.oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
9. Data breach response
Under the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme (Part IIIC of the Privacy Act), if a data breach occurs that is likely to result in serious harm to affected individuals, we will:
- contain and investigate the breach as a priority;
- notify affected individuals about the kind of information involved and steps they can take;
- notify the OAIC within 30 days of becoming aware of the breach.
